Vaping crushed: How hypnotherapy can help you to quit?

Hi, are you thinking about quitting vaping but feel unsure how to begin? Perhaps you moved to vaping because you wanted to stop smoking.

Maybe you’ve tried to stop smoking before, and now you want to stop vaping, but that habit keeps pulling you back, leaving you feeling stuck. I know the difficulty that you are going through. One part of you says quit, and the other part says I can’t. It’s a common issue that clients report to me.

The problem is that many people find it hard to break the cycle—but it doesn’t have to be that way. Vaping might seem like an impossible habit to shake, but I would like to reassure you that lasting change is possible, especially when you have the right support.

Hypnotherapy could be the solution that you have been waiting for.

With hypnotherapy, you can transform your mindset, break free from vaping, and regain control of your life.

Imagine no more buying vapes, no more spending unnecessary money, no more increased health risks, just a life where you feel better and in more control.

What is a vape?

A vape, also called an e-cigarette, is an electronic device filled with a liquid that turns into vapour by heating it. The liquid can be inhaled, and batteries power it. Some vapes are disposable.

Unfortunately, they are also a fire risk because they have batteries, as some have exploded.

What is vaping really costing you?

Let’s look at the facts.

Many countries still allow the selling of vapes. Vape shops are everywhere in the UK; however, due to the massive increase in children and young people using vapes and adults changing to vapes, governments around the world are now reviewing the sale of vapes. For example, in Australia, vapes are only available through a pharmacy, so over-the-counter purchases have dramatically reduced. Nevertheless, some people will always find a way to purchase them online because they don’t want to quit or find stopping difficult.

Have you ever stopped to think about what vaping is truly costing you?

I’m not just talking about the financial aspect, though that’s important. What about the cost to your health, time, and even your freedom?

Lots of my clients have told me that smoking and vaping take away their sense of control. It’s costing you the freedom to choose how to run your life.

It seems like, over time, it has simply become another dependency.

Consider this.

Whether it’s that quick vape break at work or reaching for it during stressful moments, vaping may now be ruling your day without you even realising it. How does that make you feel? How does it make your loved ones think, who really wants you to stop?

Financially, vaping can be just as costly as smoking.

A vape pod or e-liquid refill might seem like a small expense, but you might be shocked if you’ve ever added up how much you spend each month. Even a few pounds here and there quickly turn into hundreds over a year.

Imagine what else you could be doing with that money. Maybe you could pay off your debts. You might treat yourself to a new car or a holiday in the sunshine. Whatever it is, you can choose when you have the choice.

But the actual cost is even bigger than money.

Every time you vape, you’re feeding a habit that keeps you tethered to a substance. Are you ready to release that hold and free yourself from vaping?

Do you know what is in a vape?

The main ingredient in vapes is propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine or glycerol.

Vapes and e-liquids can contain a range of chemicals such as acetone found in nail polish remover, acrolein found in weed killer and 2-cholorophenol found in cleaning products and bug spray.(NSW Government)

Vapes also contain flavourings, and some contain nicotine. There have been reports of vapes that claim not to contain nicotine that do actually contain it.

Many people switch to vaping because they believe it’s a safer alternative to smoking. However, that is questionable now as health-related problems are being identified, such as popcorn lung and cardiovascular diseases.

Perhaps you now need to take some time to understand what’s actually in that vapour you’re inhaling. Sure, it’s not filled with tar-like cigarettes, but it’s far from harmless.

So, while vaping might feel like a lesser evil, you’re still inhaling substances that could harm your health in the long run. And for what? That quick fix, that temporary relief from stress? Is it worth the potential risk?

No one should tell you what you must do, but make sure you have all the facts to decide to quit.

How hypnotherapy can help you stop vaping

Maybe you’ve tried to quit vaping before—perhaps with patches, nicotine gum, or just by going cold turkey. But it’s not easy.

Vaping is more than just a physical nicotine addiction; it’s also a habit deeply ingrained in your mind. You reach for your vape during stressful moments, out of boredom, or as part of your daily routine.

That’s why hypnotherapy can be effective. And, if the hypnotherapist uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), you have that added reframing of the problem. Unlike methods that focus solely on reducing nicotine cravings, hypnotherapy addresses the subconscious patterns that keep you hooked.

During a session, we work together to access the deeper layers of your mind where these habits have been established.

Hypnotherapy helps to reprogram your thought patterns, making it easier to let go of the need for vaping. It’s not about willpower or forcing yourself to quit. Instead, we focus on shifting your mindset so vaping no longer feels necessary. Hypnotherapy is about helping you to change your thoughts and behaviours.

You’ll find that the cravings diminish, and the urge to reach for your vape slowly disappears. (Some clients even told me they had no cravings).

Many of my clients notice significant changes after one session, but you may need two or three sessions. They report feeling more relaxed, in control, and less drawn to vaping. The beauty of hypnotherapy is that it helps you create lasting change from within so you can quit vaping for good.

Is it time to change?

Imagine what it would feel like to be free of vaping finally.

Picture yourself waking up in the morning, knowing you don’t need that hit of nicotine to start your day.

Imagine going through stressful situations confidently, without the crutch of a vape to rely on. That’s right. How would that change your life?

By working with a trained hypnotherapist, you’re not just quitting vaping—you’re embracing a whole new way of thinking. You’re reclaiming your freedom and your health. You’re stepping into a future where you’re in control, not your vape.

This personal transformation is within your reach. Whether you’ve been vaping for a few months or many years, it’s never too late to make a change. The sooner you start, the sooner you can enjoy the benefits of a vape-free life: more energy, clearer thinking, and a renewed sense of well-being.
